The Bank Of Jamaica needs Jamaicans to be aware of its inflation policy but wanted to make it appealing to pique their curiosity.

Solution

We helped them increase brand affinity and the public’s understanding of monetary policy by ‘iconifying’ the croc in the BOJ's coat of arms as their first digital spokesperson 'Croc O. Doyle.'

We helped them transform the non-descript image to a secret agent persona inspired by James Bond, whose iconic character was created in Jamaica by writer Ian Flemming.

Inspired by movie scenes shot in Jamaica, we created a series of images and gifs referencing the newly created debonair agent, a ‘sophisticated weapon of good economic policy.

Impact

As awareness and popularity of Croc O Doyle’s Twitter threads grew, topics such as inflation and financial policy became more frequently discussed. Our animated gifs and image series helped transform hard to understand concepts into more relatable and accessible issues not simply reserved for economists.

We also created a comic explaining the Government’s economic reform journey, one of the first for a country’s Central Bank. This was featured in Argentinian news.
